Zakariaz Gerhard is a writer residing in New England.
He was born in 1985 in Solna, Sweden where he spent eleven years growing up in a Stockholm suburb. In the summer of 1996, he moved to a small town in Connecticut and spent a few years living in his grandmother's house while his family got their feet on the ground. In 2008 he graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English with the creative writing option. He also received the Distinction in Writing Award for the work in his senior portfolio.

While attending WCSU, Zakariaz spent some time writing movie reviews for the school newspaper, The Echo. He also completed an internship with The Connecticut Review, working directly with the senior editor, evaluating manuscripts, typing interview transcriptions, writing blurbs and, of course, completing routine office work.

Stepping out into the real world, Zakariaz has taken a full time job as a retail manager, while still freelance writing on the side. Currently, he writes for a couple online blogs, responds to opinions in local newspapers and makes the occasional appearance on YouTube!
